I say “Marvellous May” but this post is really about 2018 so far. You see, towards the end of 2017 I was at a low point and was seriously thinking about giving Ladybridge Leatherworks up, but a friend of my aunt (who I now call a friend) is a “marketing guru” and she agreed to be a mentor to me. The comments and feedback that I was given really gave me the boost that I needed and whilst things have been bumpy (particularly for my poor latptop which required a new harddrive after taking a fall off my sofa) we have been taking steps forwards.
So what have I done in the last five months?
1. Decided that I will perservere with this little venture of mine.
2. I have made a beautiful bridle for my own horse (and we are seeing the benefit of something being made for him as he is working beautifully in it).
3. I have developed a new product.
4. I have designed a new website.
5. Asked a friend to design a new logo for me.
Today in partcular has been a good day. I am my own worst critic when it comes to my work, but I took the very brave step of showing my work to a saddler whom I respect A LOT, and he complimented me on the quality of my work and the level of craftmanship shown.
So as I haven’t actually finished my website yet, I had better get on with that so that this can be published and “out there”.
Whatever you are going to do next, enjoy it and I hope you have as good a day as I have just had.
